I worked on a number of research-heavy projects during my time at bswing Digital Agency in Minneapolis, and the Bone Marrow Transplant Center is one that has had lasting impact on me.

The Blood and Marrow Transplant Center at the University of Minnesota is one of the top BMT centers in the world, but its old website wasn't doing it justice. During the research phase of this project, we spoke to doctors and staff as well as to mothers of children who had undergone treatment at the facility. The interviews with parents were delicate and required deep empathy to navigate; their experiences were powerful and at times heavy, even with positive health outcomes. We wanted to ensure we were respectful and handled their stories with care.

Our family research informed most of the major site changes, which included overhauls to the navigation, an interactive experience to bring the hospital more alive online, and a new research section to connect parents with the doctors’ latest studies and treatments.
