Spark was an early exploration into social, interest-based shopping within the Amazon app. I joined the small UX team in 2016, focusing on defining how shoppers expressed interests and how onboarding shaped their experience. The work required navigating significant ambiguity, balancing strong stakeholder opinions, and designing without the ability to run traditional research due to the secrecy of the project. Despite the constraints, we established foundational patterns that informed future social commerce efforts within the organization.
