About me

My background

I started my career as a UX Designer at a digital agency, where I gained hands-on experience in both Research and Design. I transitioned in-house in 2015, working as a UX Designer at Target and Amazon, where I designed e-commerce experiences used by millions of shoppers.

In my 13+ years of experience, I’ve helped teams build digital products, driven design strategy and UX research, led workshops, and managed and mentored others. You can learn more about my experience in my resumé

I have been an independent UX Strategist since 2023, specializing in helping start-ups develop their vision and strategy. In this time, I have helped clients build websites, apps, and proofs of concept across a variety of domains—from e-commerce to women’s health to govtech and AI.

My approach

I am highly collaborative in my approach with clients and teams, encouraging involvement from all cross-functional partners as early as possible. I love tools like Figjam to connect individuals across domains and time zones, fostering discussion at the foundational level.

I excel in helping turn the ambiguous into the concrete. I like to throw in a metaphor every now and then, and I view my role as helping others chip away at the marble to reveal the statue within. Through exercises, questions, and design examples, I encourage reflection and conversation on the product strategy.

A few fun facts

✍🏻 I love to draw, and I have worked on many illustration projects in the past, professionally and personally.

🇭🇷 I’m one-sixteenth Croatian (and 100% Ancestry.com nerd) and I got to visit in 2022—where I found my ancestors’ graves from the 1800’s!

🐶 I have a Labradoodle named Birdie. I don’t know how to explain it, but she’s definitely a Birdie.

🤍 I’m on the board of the MNDC, a local organization supporting professionals in the end-of-life domain. I also run a grief blog.

☕️ Even though I left Seattle in 2020, I still get coffee beans shipped in from there every month - in 5lb bags.

🥧 I’ve placed in the top 25 for apple pies at the Minnesota State Fair pie competition.

Let’s talk about your next project.
